Accoyo Bruxo
ARI #123070
Sire of Champions
Accoyo Bruxo was one of the last of the original imports from the Accoyo suri breeding program. His breeder, Don Julio Barreda, died in the winter 2007, but Don Julio's legacy lives on in the outstanding alpacas he allowed to be imported into the USA. His "calling card" Bruxo was one of the greatest suri herdsires ever imported into
Accoyo Bruxo was a true homozygous impact suri sire with over 120 suri cria on the ground. Bruxo had highly lustrous fleece with classic suri lock structure, excellent coverage and the famous Accoyo conformation. At age 15, his micron count was 23.7; unheard-of fineness for an intact male. Bruxo's remains are buried here at our farm in Cave Junction, Oregon.
Suri Futures, as the permanent home of Accoyo Bruxo, is proud that our farm has the highest concentration of Bruxo genetics anywhere in the world. Our breeding program also includes genetics from Durazno, Inca, Crown Royale, Torbio and Mahogany Prince. We offer ARI registered suri females bred to these lines.
Bruxo has produced many champion offspring, including Helios of Pacific Crest Alpacas, Peruvian Macgyver of Sierra Bonita Alpacas, grandson Captain Morgan of Wings and a Prayer Alpacas and many, many others. His son Suri Luxor won the prestigious 2006 AOBA National Color Championship White Suri Male from a field of 87 entries, in the largest alpaca show in the world, over 2100 alpacas!
We specialize in breeding ARI registered suri alpacas for health and vigor, flawless conformation and excellence in fiber production that is destined for an international textile market. Suri fiber is unique among animal fibers, more like silk than any other fiber in the world.
