Illinois Valley Alpaca 4H Club
See our Alpacas at the Josephine County Fair
Thurs Aug 19th!
Kids of all ages are welcome to learn more about alpacas. What kind of animal is an alpaca? What do people do with alpacas? How much food do they need? What is a suri?
All kids are welcome to join in the fun, and we invite parents to join in too! There are two programs so far:
- halter work with an alpaca, and
- fiber arts (working with the fiber shorn from the alpacas).
You can adopt an alpaca for your very own; for a month, a summer or a year. It’s $5/month, with a certificate of you and your alpaca. You can be part of Alpaca 4H J
The “Suri Futures” alpaca farm is down at the west end of River St west of Evergreen School, about a 5 minute ride by bike from Lorna Byrne Middle School (and it’s downhill!)
